Candidate qualifications: Qualified candidates will have experience working with elementary and secondary art students and be familiar with developing curriculum designed around the Colorado Content Standards for art.
Candidates will have a background in ELD instruction and with ELD populations.
Candidates will demonstrate an understanding of how to appropriately measure growth in the academic standards of art through various assessment measures, as well as know how to appropriately integrate cross curriculum connections in math and literacy in their classes.
They will have a strong background in the various principles of art and be able to scaffold students understanding to build a knowledge of these principles into final work and projects.
This position is probationary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL TEACHING POSITIONS Must hold a Colorado Alternative, Provisional, or Professional Teaching License with appropriate endorsements English Endorsement preferred in addition to ELD and Social Studies endorsement.
Bachelor's degree or higher required from an accredited university or college Completed a state approved Teacher Preparation Program or participation in an Alternative Teacher License program.

Instructional Interaction (Teaching) Apply principles of teaching/learning to enhance student achievement.
Utilize teaching methods that are appropriate for the objectives and learners.
Modify instruction to meet student needs.
Communicate effectively with learners.
Provide for and maintain student involvement during instruction.
Evaluation of instruction Use the evaluation of student outcomes to measure the effectiveness of instruction.
Communicate effectively student progress to student and parent/guardian Instructional management Attend to tasks in a manner that maximizes instruction.

Assist in planning for appropriate use of volunteers/aides as assigned Learning Environment Establish clear expectations for appropriate behavior.

SALARY PLACEMENT Placement on Licensed Teacher salary schedule based upon previous teaching experience and highest degree and college credits earned after student teaching was completed.

Highest initial step placement on the Licensed Salary Schedule is Step 9.
