com/ Job Overview: This is highly responsible, organized, technical and clerical work coordinating the central electronic court recording needs of the Judicial Branch.
Duties include coordination of resources to capture a record of court proceedings using computerized recording equipment and software (Zoom or For the Record [FTR]).
This position will also serve as a remote, stand-in electronic court reporter in the event a local court resource cannot be secured.
This coordinating position will exercise considerable independent judgment in all aspects of job performance.
Work is reviewed and evaluated by the Human Resources Director/Court Services Director.
Job Duties: Coordination of court electronic reporting resources to capture a record of court proceedings.
Stand-in monitoring of Zoom or FTR court recordings when local court resources are unavailable.
Coordination of transcript requests from litigants and public for recordings in proceedings when an electronic court reporter did not manage the recording.
Maintaining a log of completed transcript requests for recordings when an electronic court reporter did not manage the recording.
Training new electronic court reporters in proper use of Zoom recording or FTR court recording systems.
Developing training materials for FTR and Zoom court recording.
Stand-in recording management, maintain a high level of concentration and attentiveness throughout all court proceedings, regardless of disruptions and other unpredictable and adverse conditions.
Stand-in recording management, maintain accurate and complete files and recordings including log notes.
Act as primary contact for Zoom and FTR court recording searches upon request of the judge and other court staff, primarily for recordings in hearings/trials when an electronic court reporter did not manage the recording, or a previous court reporter is not available.

· Ability to simultaneously monitor court proceedings and record clear, detailed log notes for extended periods of time.
· Ability to listen and concentrate for extended periods of time.
· Ability to exercise tact, patience, and impartiality during all court proceedings, without regard to disruption and adverse and stressful conditions.
· Ability to exercise independent judgment.
· Ability to coordinate, prioritize work assignments, and organize workload to meet multiple demands of the branch’s electronic court reporting needs.
